Laser Hit

Completed 2018-01-25. Available releases:
A spaceship eating a laser hit. I tried to add some things a typical artist wouldn't know to do. The laser is hitting tanks of remass, which is now expanding vigorously into vacuum. This provides a medium for the laser to be visible in (it is not visible outside the cloud). Most of the illumination in the scene is from the luminescent cloud, so the shadows are soft and diffuse. At this exposure level, stars are too faint to be visible—not because I was too lazy to draw them or something. Oh, and radiators, of course. A previous version was also released with less contrast but closer to the original sketch.
Pencil + paper + computer post-processing = ~2 hr.
