One way to attack spacecraft in orbit is by using a submarine: they're stealthy and mobile, mitigating the threats of retaliation and discovery. The best wavelength to use would be a deep-violet ≈400nm (it absorbs the least amount in water, and is the most effective for subsequently traversing the atmosphere).

However, by artistic license, I chose a somewhat bluer color, and also utilized a variety of different hues (they don't capture well on my scanner; it's less-monosaturated IRL).

Artistically, this is colored pencils and gel pens. I was previously stuck with just using a white gel pen, but now I've gotten ones in other colors. I considered doing a red/orange/yellow drawing (i.e., some kind of explosion, most-likely), but I figured drawing illumination in the ocean would be more-interesting. I'm not fully pleased with how the waves came out, but they did come out decently, in my opinion, and it's certainly the best ocean I've drawn yet—so I'll take it.

Laser submarines would probably have fire from the surface, or at least have an optical conduit to the surface; seawater absorbs light pretty quickly, as well as distorts it. The chosen wavelength and adaptive optics can correct these problems somewhat, but it's better not to have them in the first place.
