So Hungry

Completed 2023-08-18. Available releases:

A solar-powered probe attempts to recharge on a distant body, perhaps somewhere like Pluto. It needs huge panels for its size, cutting deeply into its science payload. Probably there's a lesson here (use nuclear power), but really I drew this because I thought it would be an amusing image. Note the long shadows, rarefied but scattering atmosphere, and diffraction.

Artistically, this is colored pencil on black construction paper. The colored pencil felt more like charcoal, except it just kept going on the way I wanted it to, without the burnishing or poor coverage of typical colored pencils on paper. I will need to do more with this!
