Misc. Short Fiction

I've written a bunch of short fiction in various places over the years. A lot of more recent stuff is on Nanofic~Sci~Fi. A lot of other stuff was written on Google+ and Pluspora, now defunct (I hope to add them here soon). What you see here is a collection of all the other short fiction I've written.

Nano-/Microfiction

Nanofiction refers to fiction that is very short. Definitions vary, but approximately 100 words is about right. In practice a few hundred is nanoficiton or microfiction. Most of these are very old. For more recent offerings, see again Nanofic~Sci~Fi.

Flash Fiction

"Flash fiction" as a general term describes fiction that is very short. Here, I use it to mean somewhat longer stories—a page or a few pages. Most of these are also very old.

The Color of Belief

(Original date: 2009-03-11) An old story about a psychological experiment. I think it's quite bad, but it is one of my most popular stories. This version was revised on 2012-01-28.

Experiment

(Original date: 2009-04-17) An old story about an experiment on a group of children. It was originally released on the above date on my Facebook (now defunct). It appears to have been revised 2010-03-02 and 2012-01-28 (this version).

(Original date: 2014-10-13) A semi-autobiographical story (more like story intro) about a slovenly but incredibly snarky young woman doing random stuff.

Soft vs. Hard

(Original date: 2021-09-22) A series of nanofics telling the jumbled frame narrative of a battle between "Soft" and "Hard" Sci-Fi, where everybody hews to the physics of their own universe simultaneously. Inspired by and mainly publicized on the ToughSF Discord.
